11 months (and one week!)

Our baby is 11 months old and counting. She is so close to turning one that we can taste it!! We are very busy planning her first birthday party. She is going to be so cute, she loves when all the attention in the room is focused on her. She totally eats it up! More on that in a couple of weeks!! She is such a busy little girl. People are always asking me "is she always this busy?" And the answer is always "yes!" She is always finding something to do, get into, and more often destroy!! But she is so much fun and such a lively little girl. Here are some monthly milestones and favorites. And as always lots and lots of pictures!
- new words "all done", "hi", "arf, arf, arf", "meow"
- new foods- corn on the cob (actually just the left over cob, haha)
- becoming a very picky eater but no matter what she will always eat green beans or cottage cheese
- loves to snack on ice...she can keep an ice cube in her mouth until it melts without taking it out
- still only 4 teeth, 2 on top (not the middle two) and 2 on bottom
- stands at the glass door and waves at everyone who drives or walks by
- she has said "I love you" one time to Brandon but not done it again since
- brings a book to you, points at your lap so she can sit on it and you can read the book to her
- when I look at baby pics online she always waves at the computer
- waves at all little kids/babies all the time
- loves to push her stroller and the grocery cart instead of ride in it

Riding on her Cadillac Escalade EXT....she loves it! haha

Watching mommy sweep the carpets in a big people chair!

"Eating" corn on the cob. There wasn't much corn on the cob...it was a hand me down. LOL!

Clapping in her favorite chair!

She loves the slide. Her legs were sticking to it, otherwise she can go down it all by herself!

So cute!

Addison is such a happy little girl but occassionally something does not go her way, and this is how she tells me all about it :)

She's got attitude. Always looking for something to get into.

Found her behind the TV stands. But she thought it was a game!
Helping daddy detail the car. She loves to help!

Brushing her teeth all by herself!

Eating her tutu.

I love this picture of her. She is a beautiful little girl.

Probably shouldn't be teaching her to walk up the slide...

Where are your shoes little girl?

10 Months Old!!

Where has our little baby gone? Someone told me that once a child starts walking they are considered a toddler. If this is true, we have officially had a toddler for about 3 weeks... but she will always be my baby. And I make sure and tell her that everyday! Now that Addison is walking, she is into absolutely everything. There is never a dull moment in the Kauffman household, as she goes from one thing to the next. I was laughing at myself the other day thinking about how extremely naive I was before Addison got here. When we were registering for her I bypassed the baby gates thinking to myself that I would not need them, because I would just teach her to stay out of stuff! LOL. I am trying to teach her to stay out of things, but I definitely need to invest in a few baby gates to aid my teachings.

Although we need a lot of energy to keep up with our little girl, I think we can honestly say we have never had so much fun, experienced so much joy, and been so happy in our entire lives. We look forward to every day with her. Addison has started saying "no, no, no, no" and shaking her finger at the same time. Adorable! Here are a few likes/dislikes from this past month. She has been obsessed with walking/running and exploring this month but has managed a few other things.

-favorite foods green beans, broccoli, watermelon, and FROZEN grapes
-dancing to music
-loves to mimic sounds and gestures
-loves water, HATES sand
-likes to open drawers and pull everything out of them
-likes to walk in new places ie library, outside, park, stores
-wants to "push" the cart all around the store (I have to get a pic of this)

Mommy and Addi. She is getting so much hair!

Playdate with Cole. I thought it was so cute that they always sat so close to each other.

Loves to stick out her tongue. So rotten!

She still only has two teeth!

She did not know what to do when I let her eat out of the bowl. Look at those eyes, they say it all.

Happy B-Day Grandpa!

We had a family cook-out at Aaron and Jill's house to celebrate my Dad's birthday, and my parents anniversary is also the next day. It was a beautiful day, and we all had a great time. Aunt Jill has watched Addison a couple of days in the last month so Addi felt right at home. She was walking all around like she owned the place. She also is in love with thier new kitties.

Grandma and Grandpa McCormick with their girl!

Grandpa and Addi. She hardly every will look at the camera!

Watching her cousins, Grace and Josh, play outside with the kitties. They loved the kitties too!
So fascinated with the kitties.

Meg's Baby Shower

I was in charge of decorations for Meg's baby shower. She was supposed to find out if she was having a girl or boy, but Baby J was not very co-operative! So she loves red and wanted as much red as possible. It was very hard to find brown and red decorations, but I think it came together very well!

The diaper cake. Megan's aunt had a great idea to put it on this cake stand. I think it really made it pop!

Onesie bouqets and the diaper cake

I painted the pots to match the decor. I thought the polka dots really made it feel like baby decor.

These are onesie bouqets. The "white roses" are rolled carter onesies.

9 months old!

Addison is 9 months old (and a week or so, there seems to be a trend....)! She is becoming our little socialite which is hard to believe considering she had severe stranger danger from 3 months to about seven months. We look at her everyday and say, "I cannot believe how big she is...can you?" We went for her 9 month appointment today, she weighs 19 lbs 14 oz and is 26.5 inches long! She's a short little girl, but very healthy and very cute:) We have been very busy enjoying summertime with our baby girl. Here our some of her monthly milestones and pics...enjoy!

- she loves to clap (so cute!), give five, and wave bye-bye
- new favorite food is maderine oranges
- pulls all of the lids out of my lid drawer approx. 5-10x a day
- walks 6-10 steps then drops and crawls the rest of the way
-stands at the glass door (getting fingerprints all over it!) looking outside
- when we go shopping or out-and-about she will smile at people, if they do not look at her she then lets out a loud sqeal, waits for them to look and smiles again. She is such a stinker! And btw if they do not look, she will keep doing it until they do or they walk away.
- if I give her apple slices she will spend the entire mealtime eating those and not eat anything else
- she has two bottom teeth and she LOVES to brush them
- loves to pull everything out of the diaper bag and/or purse (both g-mas let her do this)
- she does not like to wear dresses b/c they totally intefere with her crawling speed
- if we leave her in a room, she can now crawl and come find us

She uses the pub-style table to get from the living room to the dining room so she doesn't have to crawl..its much faster that way.

This is an "electric" toothbrush for babies, and it is her favorite. She cries when we say she's done. It could be worse I guess, she could hate brushing her teeth...

It rained on the 4th, so no swimming! She wore her suit for a little while anyway b/c she looked soo cute!

Naptime with daddy.

So proud of herself to be standing and walking!

The lid drawer....

The classic spaghetti pic...every kid has one..and she's just about to touch her hair. We all know what comes next.

The Toothless Grin is Gone Forever...

It's here! Addison finally has her first tooth! She has been such a happy little girl. I feared she would be a very grumpy little teether and possibly start night waking again, but so far she has done wonderful (I don't want to jinx myself!) Of course, she wants nothing to do with me trying to feel it but can you blame her? And to get a picture of it....ha, no way (and believe me I've tried!) So we have started brushing her tooth, and she absolutely LOVES it. She wants to brush hers every time I brush mine. She has been using our electric toothbrush so I really just think she likes the vibration on her gums but whatever works.

This week Addison has also taken her first unassisted steps. Yay! She still has a little ways to go before she is actually walking, but she is definitely on her way. I don't know how I will ever be able to contain her once she is walking. I need to get more serious about baby-proofing. We are so proud of her!

We had her 9 month pics taken, and they turned out adorable. Hopefully we'll get those up soon!

She has discovered running water and loves to play in it.

She is turning into such a little ham. Always being silly and belly laughing...so cute!

8 months old

Our baby girl is 8 months old (and a few days now....). She is turning into such a little person. She pulls herself up and cruises around everything! She wants to be standing at all times, no time for sitting down anymore. She still has stranger anxiety but seems to warm up to people alot faster than she used to so that definitely makes life more fun. I thought it would be fun to make a list of the things she loves to do....some of these things she has been doing for a while now, others are more recent. And then some pictures, of course.

-drink ice cold water from a straw
-eat organic apple puffs
-turn the pages of her books
-chew on cold teething rings (no teeth yet)
-dance to music
-play "where's Addison?" (our version of peek-a-boo)
-sing while she gives kisses
-go for walks
-try to pet Zimmy....poor Zimmy
-watch/stare at anybody and everybody
-pull hair
-chew on the spatula while my mommy cooks
-walk behind her walking toy
-play with/chew on anything she knows she is not supposed to have.....cords, phones, remotes, etc...
-ride in the wagon at grandma and grandpa's house
-bath time

Cheese quesidillas.....her new favorite food!

Helping mommy put away groceries...

Does she look rotten? Because she totally is. But we wouldn't have her any other way!

Chewing....Every week I think she must be teething...she has to be teething but no. Still no teeth...

Addison played in the pack'n'play for the first time ever while Brandon and I mulched and weeded the landscaping. She was so good!

Here is a series of pictures. I put her sunglasses on and you can see for yourself how long that lasted...ha!

Not happy....

Happy now b/c she is taking them off...

Even happier b/c she is chewing on them...

Ice cold water, cheerios, a tamborine, and a barbie guitar.....what more could a girl ask for. No wonder she was content for well over an hour.

She loves her activity center and spends a good part of her day walking around it. She loves it when I hide her apple puffs in the little compartment. She will open it and get the biggest smile! Sometimes she will even let out a sqeul.

Guess who she sees....her daddy! She is the happiest baby and giggles non-stop for the first hour when Brandon gets home from work. It is soo cute. She is like tickled to death to see him. She loves her daddy.

Pulling herself up like a litte pro.

Hmm...I'm bored with the spatula...what else can I grab?

She is so proud of herself...and we are soo proud of her too! She pushes this all around the living room.
